皇太子殿下の御結婚奉祝のために、海外のアーティストが吹き込んだレコード

欧米のムード・ミュージックを楽しむ中で、
かつて日本の皇室にあてた楽曲もありました。
海外のアーティストですから、当然、
現地の国で発売されるのですが、
「日本に住む人々への祝辞」という発想そのものが、
当時としては非常に珍しく思えます。
　
昭和３４年（１９５９年）、当時の
明仁親王（現：上皇陛下）と
美智子妃殿下（現：上皇后陛下）の
御成婚が発表されたことで作られたレコードです。

このどちらのレコードも、
アーティストではなく、レコード会社によって
企画されたものでした。

『プリンス・アキヒト・ウェディング・マーチ』と、『プリンセス・ミチコ・ウェディング・ソング』を収録。

イギリスのＥＭＩが、傘下のコロムビアに作らせたレコードは、
『プリンス・アキヒト・ウェディング・マーチ（Prince Akihito Wedding March）』
と、
『プリンセス・ミチコ・ウェディング・ソング（Princess Michiko Wedding Song）』
でした。

これを同社のトップ・アーティストであり、
イギリスのムード・ミュージック楽団としても
代表的な存在のノリー・パラマー（Norrie Paramor）に
吹き込ませました。

しかも、このレコードには凄いものが付属していて、
ノリー・パラマーの直筆の手紙とサインがあるのです・・・
印刷物ですので、もちろんコピーですが（笑）
それに、ＥＭＩ会長のメッセージ文も、
合わせて翻訳付きで付属しています。

　
一方、アメリカのＲＣＡビクターが作ったレコードは、
『ハッピー・プリンス（The Happy Prince）』
でした。

これをアメリカの人気楽団、
スリー・サンズ（The Three Suns）に吹き込ませ、
記念の特別吹き込みレコードとしました。
Ｂ面には、喜びのムードとして、美しいメロディーの
『春のいぶき（Breath of Spring）』が選ばれ、
彼らの演奏には今までなかった
マンドリンを加えた特別編成として演奏されています。

もちろん、このレコードにも、
ＲＣＡビクター副社長と、スリー・サンズのリーダーによる、
お祝いの挨拶が、翻訳と共に記載されております。

　
当時の皇太子殿下の御成婚（納采の儀）、
御結婚の奉祝にちなんで、
複数のレコードが発売、または配布されておりますが、
海外のムード・ミュージックのアーティストが演奏する
「特別な曲」というのも、
またひと味違った解釈も出来て、楽しいものに感じました。
